Heineken Experience in Amsterdam

If you are a beer drinker, I can only recommend you to visit the Heineken Experience in Amsterdam! Basically it is a historic brewery and visitor center for the Dutch beer Heineken.

TIP: buy your tickets on the internet before you go there. It saves you a lot of time.

First, you go trough a more historical part of Heineken. They explain how it was created etc. Then they show you the ingredients with explanations.

Then, the more interesting part – at least for me – started. You go to the room with all the brew kettles. They all have a different function. They have different stations where you can grind the grains or mix different ingredients together.

At the end of this tour, they show you how to drink correctly the Heineken beer.

The next step is a machine where you can order bottles with your own name on it. This costs only 6 € per bottle. I think that this is an amazing souvenir.

After walking a little bit trough the brewery, the next thing to do, is to get taught how to draw beer. This is really cool, because you get a certificate as an certified pourer.

Then you can have a drink, or two etc.

At the end you get your bottle, if you ordered one, and of course a souvenir shop.

Even if I’m not a beer drinker, it was a cool experience, so I can highly recommend it.
