The Semana Santa or in English Holy Week is the most important week in Spain. It is celebrated the week before Easter. At this time, the whole city is full of people, and everything is decorated. When I decided to go to Seville, I didn’t know that they celebrate Easter so deeply.
We were there only for one day, but that day was really amazing. We looked at a few processions which walk from their home churches to the Cathedral. We were there on Holy Thursday, when the most processions arrive at the Cathedral.
The people in the processions wear capes and robes with a hood, so that you can’t see their face. If you’re not informed about these traditions, it is really creepy to see those disguised people.
I enjoy Easter very much, and I was really amazed by the processions and the decorated city with all its people.
